Brannigan’s Building Construction for the Fire Service, 6th Edition

Brannigan’s 6th Edition of Building Construction for the Fire Service features a new chapter titled Non-Fire Building Systems that covers the topics of electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, conveyances, and refrigeration systems. Otherwise the chapters are the same as the 5th Edition of the book. The new chapter (Chapter 7) is about the only obvious difference between the last two editions of Brannigan’s Building Construction for the Fire Service. The case studies at the beginning of each chapter and the wrap up sections at the end of each chapter appear to be mostly the same between the last two editions. Even the questions in both of those sections appear to be identical. There even appears to be many of the same photos used throughout the new edition. The new 6th Edition does maintain a similar length to the previous version with roughly 450 pages, but the book is physically bigger with new dimensions. The two appendices remained the same and it also includes a glossary of terms. The co-author Glenn Corbett provides a new preface from 2019 for this 6th Edition of the book.
